Peru: La Flor Del Zapote

The La Flor del Zapote is soft and sweet with structural clarity. Impressions of candied lemon and oolong tea enhance a light and elegant body.

La Flor del Zapote is a 40 year old farm located in the mountains of Nothern Peru. The farm took its name from the Zapote, a tree indigenous to Central and South America that produces flowers and fruit. It is owned and run by Rony Lavan Guerrero and his family of eight. The crops on this farm are grown using only organic fertilizers, and shade coverage is provided by the surrounding fruit trees and wild flowers. A portion of sales help fund Coffee for Education, a non–profit organization helping educate children of coffee families.
