The Muthunzuuni is immediately distinctive with its juicy body and complex sweetness. Highlights of kiwi and mandarin are cast over soft grapefruit acidity to a brown sugar finish.
The Muthunzuuni society is nestled in the steep mountains of Machakos County in the lower eastern end of the Kenya central growing regions. Machakos and Meru regions produce some of the most remarkable coffees in Kenya, which tend to have more complex sweetness, rounder body and less citric acidity. Unfortunately, these coffees often get blended into the fly crops of the more well known Nyeri, Thika and other central regions to make those coffees more flavorful and larger volume. The goal is to break that process and let the wonderful coffees of Machakos and Meru shine on their own.
